“The Born Again Identity” is our next episode, and ngl, I’m totally stoked. It’s an episode that really rewards the dedicated re-watcher, since almost every theme Sera Gamble has ever toyed with comes to a head here. If “Death’s Door” is a masterpiece, “The Born Again Identity” is her magnum opus. I can’t say enough good things about it.

It’s ridiculous how excited I am to tackle this one. By the time I’m done, I swear, even Daphne is gonna make sense.

It will, however, take me some time to get through. To give you an idea why, here’s my preparatory watchlist:

  • The Born Again Identity (of course)
  • Dead in the Water
  • Faith
  • Houses of the Holy
  • Heart
  • Are You There, God? It’s Me Dean Winchester
  • I Know What You Did Last Summer
  • Exile On Main Street
  • Let It Bleed

Yep, “The Born Again Identity” calls back to every single one of these episodes — and more — which means that this weekend, it’s basically a Sera Gamble marathon at my house. It’ll be awesome, to be sure, but just please be patient if the next part takes awhile to write — I want to make this one as good as it can be. :)

Sorely tempted to do the marathon too, if only to read part 8 in better context.
