Two days ago, myjusticecake asked me a simple question:
How old do you think Fenris is?
Oh man. This girl has no idea what she has unleashed.
I’ve been digging around in the DARPG playbooks to find clues on how long elves live, the history of Seheron, anything to help anchor our dear elven slave in the Thedasian timelines.
The shit I’m uncovering.
Dude.
Secret races.
The Qunari subjugation of the native Par Vollens.
The parallels between the birth of the Grey Wardens and the pre-Columbian Maya.
This universe — we really have only begun to scratch its surface. Which warms my fangirl heart.
But in my digging, one passage on the history of the Grey Wardens jumped out at me, and I had to share it, because it makes my heart hurt in about a thousand different ways:
The nascent Grey Wardens experimented in secret. In addition to learning from Donark practices and Tevinter blood mages, they studied lore from ancient Arlathan. The knowledge was conveyed by elven slaves who provided it on the condition that the Grey Wardens would hold elves equal with the other races among their ranks, and turn their efforts to elven liberation once the Blight was defeated.
